About Mt. Zion Church

Who we are, Where we come from, and where we're headed as a church family.

Who we are

As mentioned before, Mt. Zion Church cares about one thing more than anything else, Jesus Christ. Mt. Zion is a family that have found hope in Jesus, and simply want as many people as possible to experience that exact same freedom. It is our mission to make a positive I.M.P.A.C.T. in the lives of our families, friends and neighbors, for the Kingdom of God.

We believe in the Father who is God Almighty; the Creator of all things and the Preserver of Light and Life. We believe in the Son, who is Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son. He was human and divine, truly lived, suffered and died, rose again from the dead, ascended on high and is coming again.

We believe that Jesus was sent by God to man. That whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.

We believe in the Holy Ghost, who was sent from God the Father and the Son. That the Holy Spirit convicts and converts sinners, dwells in the believer, keeps the believer from the power of sin and leads him to the father, through His Son, Jesus Christ.

We believe the Bible is the word of God, given by inspiration through holy men. That in the bible, God seeks to reveal his will to man and man seeks to respond to God’s revelation.

We believe that the union of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost are revealed through His church. That all believers are united into one body – the Church. We believe that Christ is coming back for His holy Church, without spot or wrinkle.

That without holiness in spirit, soul and body, no man shall see the Lord.

The Mt. Zion House of Prayer was founded by the late Rev. Dr. Virginia Wright-Goode in November 1951. Rev. Virginia Wright-Goode and the Mt. Zion Church family share a rich history of touching the lives of countless souls in the Red Bank region and beyond.

In November of 2005, Elder Randy McNeill and his family came to Mt. Zion to join Pastor Goode and the Mt. Zion Family to assist in ministry.

After the passing of the founder, Dr. Virginia Wright-Goode in July of 2006, Rev. Randy McNeill took the reigns of leadership and was officially installed as Pastor in January 2007.

What’s the bottom line? More than ever, Mt. Zion Church is committed to fostering a family, built around hope. Hope for the future. Hope for better. Hope for progress. Hope in Jesus. And as we move forward as a church family, inclusion and belonging remain at the center of who we are as followers of Christ.
